The drummer from Motley Crue, Tommy Lee, began playing the drums when he was a mere four years old. He didn't have a real drum kit set until he was a teenager, but that hadn't deterred his playing within the least. Taylor Hawkins, who is most effective referred to as being the drummer for the Foo Fighters, also began his drumming career as a child. Drums aren't just played by men and boys either, Sheila E has turn out to be very well known for her remarkable drum playing. She began playing drums at the early age of three. Her father was a band leader so by the time she was five she was already playing in ballroom halls. If I play CLARINET,how hard would it be to learn SNARE DRUM/PERCUSSION?
I'm in concert 1 band at my middle school and I want to switch instruments since clarinet is getting boring for me.How hard would it be to learn?Any pro's or con's about switching?
well you would be suprised, it would depend on what grade your in, im a freshman drummer, i have been playing since 6th grade and people have tried changing in 6th grade, they are good percussionists, but they had the hardest time changing on the drums, the keyboard percussion is an easy change, but the drums aren't so easy. you might be thinking that it's not too smart to tae dvice from just a freshman, but i'm a freshman marching snare so i know what im tlking about. if you start playing the drums, it'll be a hard change, but its not impossible,,,,,hope i helped
Rhythm is by far essentially the most essential tool any drummer is going to want. For those who can tap your fingers or hands to a beat on the table, school desk, or locate your self banging on your steering wheel to the beat of a favorite song, chances are you could drum. For those who don't have rhythm, with my personal experience and what I've seen, you do not want to begin trying to drum. It is far too high priced to "test the waters", plus, you don't have to play drums to discover out you don't have rhythm. In case you do have rhythm, coordination would be the only thing which will possibly hold you back at this point, and should you didn't know, coordination usually comes by practice. (So don't give me that "I'm not coordinated" crap) Plenty of your large name drummers inside the world, which include Mike Portnoy, Tony Royster JR, Travis Barker, and Neil Peart actually started out at a really young age, so if you are just starting out, and feel overwhelmed by the talent of some of your peers! They may possibly not have had coordination in the beginning either, so just hang in there! It takes years and years of experience. The drum is among the most utilised musical instrument to date and haveing the right equipment like the Percussion Snare Drum on this page will surely support in the performance.
Coming out of a musical back round is generally a massive support. I was in fact born into a family where my father plays guitar (which we're basically in a gigging band together currently), and out of his four brothers, 3 of them played instruments, together with my grandfather played bass, and my grandmother sang (that is how they met!) So interestingly sufficient, I think that music runs within the family, considering that my parents by no means pushed the drums on me, and I eventually just wanted to play drums on my own. Just in the nearby area I live in alone, I know 2 other fairly massive families that have very young talent, and also the parents and grandparents playing instruments at some point(or still today). So when you have music within your blood, for gods sake, pick up a set of stick or a guitar (just not a bass), and get to practicing!
